Phillip Roddis Zaun Jr., of Sedona, died Oct. 4 in Cottonwood.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Barbara.

He is survived by his brother, Fredric; sisters Shirley [Jack] Lugviel and Bonnie Aultman; sons, Phillip [Lori] Roddis III, Christopher and Steven [Theresa]; daughters, Deborah Miller and Heidi [Doug] Stecker; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of his life will be held later.

Fred Jacob Foster, of Sedona, died Oct. 11.

He began his professional career with Idaho Power. A position with AT&T moved his family to Phoenix, where he built an exemplary career. Following that, he and his wife retired to Sedona.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; seven children; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Donations in his name to St. Vincent De Paul are suggested.

Thomas F. Cadigan, age 90, of Sedona, died Oct. 8.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Knights of Columbus, and a Sedona resident since 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Marianna; daughters Nancy and Jane; sons Tom and John; his brother John; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Contributions in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice Compassus in the Village of Oak Creek are suggested.

Stephen Bryant Walling, 53, of Sedona, died Oct. 15.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry “Ace” Walling.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Walling; uncles, aunts, and cousins and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor are suggested to the Humane Society of Sedona and St. John Vianney Catholic Church of Sedona.

Dorothy Louise Kvick Kassel, of Sedona, died Oct. 24.

A Sedona resident since 1995, she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Sedona Public Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred; oldest daughter Julie Suzanne; and brother Paul.

She is survived by her brother Robert John of Carmichael, Calif.; daughter Deborah of Redmond, Wash.; sons Paul of Highland, N.Y. and Daniel of La Jolla, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Adele Thierry Wales, 78, of Sedona, died Oct. 30.

She was preceded in death by husband William Douglas Wales.

She is survived by sisters Georgette Kafka and Suzanne Bell; children Christopher [Janette] Wales,  Jennifer [James] Perry and Elizabeth Wales and partner Eileen Kelly; and grandchildren Sophia Perry, Audrey Perry and Oliver Kelly Wales.

A funeral service and interment will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Newton Cemetery in Massachusetts. Donations are suggested to the Verde Valley Caregivers.

Dimity Ann [Spalding] Raniello, 74, of Sedona, died Oct. 29.

A resident of Sedona for 24 years, she was originally from Rhode Island.

She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia B. Lemire.

She is survived by husband Vincent L. Raniello, her children Peter W. Pfeiffer III and Jody Pfeiffer; step-children Roy Raniello and Traci Raniello; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart of 15 years Dennis Perry.

She is survived by daughter Debra Wilkie of Sedona.

Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue in Stickney, Ill.

Lee Grant Phelps
Jan. 23, 1943 — Oct. 16, 2015

Lee Grant Phelps, 72, of the Village of Oak Creek, died Oct. 16 in Phoenix.

He grew up in Utah and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the Las Vegas gaming industry for more than 20 years. After receiving a master’s degree in sociology, he moved to Arizona and became a family therapist.

His hobbies included cooking, baking, photography, dancing, reading and caring for plants.

He is survived by his daughters Deanna Phelps and Allison Phelps Vece; son Kevin Phelps; and grandchildren Kaydence, Avery, and Peyton.
