Joan Beutel Christians, of Cornville, and Sedona, died March 21.

She was preceded in death by husband H. Charles Christians.

She is survived by husband Ronald Butterbaugh of Cornville; brothers Clarence Beutel Jr. of Batavia, Ill., and James Beutel of Phoenix; sons Daniel James [Donna] Christians of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Henry Charles [Carolyn] Christians of Los Alamos, N.M.; daughter Kimberly Christians [Dennis] Peterson of Carlsbad, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A small family memorial service will be scheduled.

Marybeth Carlile, 82, a resident of the Verde Valley for 25 years, died on March 18.

Gov. Bruce Babbitt appointed her in 1978 to the State Water Commission, the first woman appointed to that position.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Carlile; son Glenn; daughters MaryLou Howard and Julie Morrison; and four grandsons.

Anne K. Debs, 89, of Sedona, died March 29.

Born in North Hampton Township, Penn., she was a resident of Sedona for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Debs.

She is survived by her son Steven [Debra] Debs; grandsons Garrett Debs and Kyle Debs of Sedona; and daughter Diane Holmes of Nashville, Tenn.

Beverly Jean Wilkinson, 90, of the Village of Oak Creek, died March 30.

At 19, she trained to be a Woman Air Force Service Pilot during World War II and graduated in Oct. 1944.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Wilkinson.

She is survived by two adopted children; and two grandchildren Marissa and Robert.

There will be no funeral or memorial service.

Marilyn Bennett, of Sedona, died April 1.

A resident of Sedona since 1979, she was an active member of the Verde Valley Weavers for 34 years.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years James H. Bennett; sons Steven [Cindy] Mostovoy and Greg [Donna] Mostovoy; grandson Sam Gregory Mostovoy; and brother Charles French.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in her name are suggested to Northern Arizona Hospice.

Norma L. Holden, of Sedona, died April 5.

She is survived by her children Charles Holden [Regina Heiser], Jocelyn [Dick] Johnson, Kathryn Holden [Robert Leventry], Curtis Holden and Jennifer Holden; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held Friday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m. at The Church of the Red Rocks, 54 Bowstring Drive. The family suggests donations in her memory to the Verde Valley Sanctuary, Sedona Arts Center or Northern Arizona Hospice.

Logan Spude, 26, of Cottonwood, died April 2.

He was a 2006 graduate of Mingus Union High School and attended Yavapai College.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, April 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Georgia Frontiere’s ranch, 1385 Loy Road in Cornville. Friends and family are welcome to bring a dish, photographs and stories to the alcohol-free service.

Henry Robert “Bob” Blaustone, of Sedona, died March 31.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, and his siblings Donald Blaustone and Marcheta Fredrich.

He is survived by his children Mark, Suzanne, Jeffrey and Christopher, and grandchildren Natalie, Nathan and Zachary.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Orange, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her sisters and brother, her son-in-law and her former husband Robert Kenny.

She is survived by her husband Hans Epprecht; her children Tom [Catherine] Kenny and Cathy Stamm; stepchildren, John [Deborah] Epprecht, Heidi Epprecht Eller, Kurt [Kimberly] Epprecht; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wilma C. Grimsrud, 100, formerly of Sedona, died April 2 in Watertown, Wis.

After retiring to Sedona in 1973, she was a 20-year volunteer at the Sedona Public Library, and at Sedona Girls Ranch Thrift Shop.

She is survived by children Gayle [Joel] Rabinovitz of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Richard Grimsrud of Sedona and Frances [Lee Buescher] Milburn of Watertown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Rainbow Hospice, 1st Congregational Church in Watertown or the Sedona Public Library.

Frank Spado died April 13.

Preceding him in death were parents Frank Spado Sr. and Carmelina Spado; and brother Joe [Barb] Spado .

He is survived by wife Jennifer and daughters Kathy [Eric] Stanek and Wanda [Brett] Evangelista; granddaughters Jessica and Jordan Stanek; sister Marie [Bob] Kay; five stepchildren and their 12 children.

Service will be held at Oak Creek Estados clubhouse on Monday, April 28, at 4 p.m. 65 Verde Valley School Road.

William “Bill” Luckey, formerly of Sedona, died April 13, in Scottsdale.

He graduated from high school in Cottonwood before heading to Northern Arizona University and then subsequently moving to Scottsdale.

He is survived by his daughter Jordan, mother Virginia, girlfriend Petrina Lundy, brothers Brad and Greg Luckey, and sister Robin Williams.

A founding member of Friends of the Forest and Big Park Regional Council, she volunteered with Keep Sedona Beautiful, Sedona Public Library and the Humane Society of Sedona.

She is survived by her husband Clyde McClelland; daughter Karen McClelland of Sedona; and grandson Kevin Jackson of Scottsdale.

Per her request, there will be no services. Donations in her memory are suggested to the Friends of the Forest or the Humane Society of Sedona.

A private family service will be held Saturday, May 10, with a reception following at her home. Interment will take place at the National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

A Sedona resident since 1972, he served in the Korean conflict and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard Air Defense.

He is survived by wife Carol and poodle Sophie; daughters and son-in-laws Sami Lyn and Geoffrey Worssam and Jimi Jo and Isaiah Veale; six grandchildren, Mia, Maggie, Mikayla and Max Veale and Aspen and Sage
Worssam; brother Paul Gresham Story; and sister Harriet Ann Story.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at the Clarkdale-Jerome School, and on Monday, May 19, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Sedona.

Donations may be made to the Clarkdale-Jerome School for the Anne Conway Scholarship.
